Owner/Appraiser Andrea Venn started in the jewelry industry in 1996 at the age of fourteen, sorting jewelry and gemstones at America’s Collectibles Network, which later became Jewelry Television, or JTV, in Knoxville, Tennessee. Through the years, she saw a large variety and volume of gemstones as she weighed, measured, and entered their relevant data into the computer systems as part of the gemstone tagging department before moving on to the high-end memo gemstone section. Andrea then became part of the Presentations Analyst group to give helpful feedback to show hosts and provide valuable product performance data to the president and a vice president of the company.
In 2006, Andrea went to the Gemological Institute of America, GIA, in Carlsbad, California, to complete her Graduate Gemologist certification, Accredited Jewelry Professional certification, and Graduate Pearls certification on campus. Upon completion, she immediately accepted the opportunity to join the sales team at Iridesse, Tiffany & Company’s pearl stores, in Palm Beach, Florida, as the store’s Graduate Gemologist, working her way up to the Management Associate position in charge of store inventory in just seven months. She later moved to Dayton, Ohio, to be with her new husband. There Andrea soon became part of the exceptional staff at Weber Jewelers, contributing to customer sales, taking in repairs, creating custom pieces, completing appraisals for customers, and later managing the advertising and ordering for Pandora merchandise in the store.
Andrea completed the Foundation and Diploma courses about gemstones to become a Fellow with the Gemmological Association of Great Britain, Gem-A, and earn the esteemed title of FGA in 2016. She decided to put her experience in the jewelry and gemstone industry to good use, providing accurate and honest appraisals so that you can easily safeguard the jewelry that you love and wear.
